Computational Ecosystem

Intro

Group Work

2024 Fall

Role

3D Modeling, Computational Design, Rendering

Tools

Grasshopper, Zbrush, Blender, HTC, Unity, Quest 3

This project envisions the evolution of life in a collapsing universe, where organisms transition from basic forms, such as paramecia, to skeletal and tentacled beings, eventually leading to intricate, intelligent alien civilizations. By integrating HTC Vive motion tracking, computational modeling in Grasshopper, and Blender animation, the project simulates parametric shapes inspired by natural movements. Personalized G-code printing is introduced to bring these designs to life physically, crafting a tangible ecosystem. The project imagines how cosmic rebirth might computationally shape new life forms, blending biology, technology, and speculative fiction.

Part 1 Evolve from Singularity

What if the Universe Shrinks to a New Singularity?
Part 1

The collapsing universe becomes a digitally inspired ecosystem where technology and biology merge. Using G-code printing and ZBrush, creatures’ jewelry-like adaptations integrate into human bodies, blending humanity and alien life. Inspired by Annihilation, the designs reflect evolution from simplicity to complexity, imagining how cosmic rebirth might shape new life forms.

Part 2 Möbius Galaxy

Using GH and AR to demonstrate the animated habitat and how the creatures traveled to our world
Part 2

The collapsing universe becomes a digitally inspired ecosystem where technology and biology merge. Using G-code printing and ZBrush, creatures’ jewelry-like adaptations integrate into human bodies, blending humanity and alien life. Part 4: MR Game

A currently working game that delves into the transformation of humans into creatures, highlighting the loss of humanity through a progressively distorted and alien user interface. The gameplay challenges conventional intuition, as moving forward feels like moving backward, and dimensions become inverted, creating a disorienting yet immersive experience.
